Michael Orchard, Senior Financial Advisor

Michael is a passionate Wealth Management Professional with an expertise in helping real families create sustainable retirement income plans. Using his RetirementGuard process, which he’s developed and refined over the past two decades, his clients sleep soundly knowing they won’t run of money.

As a Certified Financial Planner for more than twenty years, Michael has dedicated himself to providing exceptional service and outstanding value to his clients.

Michael is a graduate of GMI Engineering & Management Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and The University of Western Ontario, with a Master of Business Administration. He’s completed the Professional Financial Planning Course and carries the designation of Certified Financial Planner. Annually he completes more than 30 hours of career-related education to remain an expert in the retirement income planning field.

His outstanding service and commitment to excellence has resulted in a fiercely loyal client base built largely through personal recommendations. Through comprehensive and regular communication Michael strives to understand each client’s needs, goals and risk tolerance and then develops a personalized financial solution for each client family. Key aspects of his job include protecting clients from the adverse effects of: taxes, erosion of purchasing power (inflation) and longevity risk (outliving one’s money).

Michael has lived in Amherstburg since 1976. Together with his wife, a professor at The University of Windsor Law School, they enjoy the daily challenges and excitement of raising their three children – ages 13, 16 and 18. For fun, he likes to ride bikes and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

After more than a decade with Manulife Securities, Sheila is a model of operational efficiency.  From routine account maintenance and address updates to tracking complicated international stock and bond transfers she is always on top of things. Her gracious, naturally cheery attitude makes her a pleasure to work with and our clients always enjoy her warm greetings - on the phone and in person. Her friendly follow-up calls for scheduled meetings, cheque requests and missing documents add that personal touch that's so often missing in this industry. At the end of the day, Sheila is our “jack of all trades” with the technical competency and people skills to handle it all.
